Marriott Bonvoy is seeking a Principal Mobile Engineer with 8-10 years of leadership experience in enterprise-scale mobile app development (iOS or Android). This hybrid role is based in Hyderabad, India, and focuses on serving as a technical subject matter expert (SME) for either the iOS or Android platform, providing strategic technical advisory and hands-on support for the Marriott Bonvoy app.

What You'll Do:

As a key member of the Mobile Platform Team, you will:

• Help define the Target Architecture for your platform and advise on the Mobile Platform Roadmap and priorities.

• Regularly deliver high-impact code and lead architecture and framework initiatives.

• Partner with other Principal Engineers, Engineering Directors, Enterprise Architecture, and squad Tech Leads to advise on solutioning for major features and ensure adherence to architecture and security standards.

• Solve the most complex problems, perform code reviews, and coach developers.

• Provide recommendations for improvements around workflow, tools, and standards.

• Stay abreast of the platform ecosystem (Apple or Google) to remain an expert authority on OS and device capabilities.

• Research and explore new tools, solutions, and frameworks, leading proof of concepts and objectively assessing technologies.

• Educate the mobile engineering community, internal and external.

• Oversee application development standards, tools, and SDLC processes across Agile and Waterfall models.

• Ensure consistent service delivery, compliance, and process adherence across IT and vendor teams.

• Lead and monitor application development projects in partnership with cross-functional and provider teams.

• Drive alignment with business goals, manage escalations, and ensure service level compliance.

• Manage reporting, project reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives using CMMi or similar frameworks.

• Support IT governance, budgeting, and strategic planning initiatives.

• Evaluate and ensure service provider performance aligns with contractual obligations and evolving business needs.

Skills & Experience:

• 8–10 years of leadership experience in enterprise-scale mobile app development (iOS/Android), supporting millions of users.

• Strong experience in Omni-Channel solutions, CI/CD, release management, and app store deployments.

• Proficient in API platforms, backend integration, full-stack infrastructure, and enterprise SDKs.

• Proven Agile/SAFe leadership, with experience managing mixed and offshore teams.

• Skilled in stakeholder management, process optimization, and IT financial governance.

• Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.

Education & Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience/certification).

• Certifications in Agile/SAFe, Mobile Development, or related technologies preferred.
